VIP Service
The
essence of the service is to ensure unhindered, faster than the
average access to information on the referendum. Its information
content is in every detail identical with the content of the
information put on the World Wide Web.
We ensure VIP service for the diplomatic corps accredited to Budapest,
parliamentary parties, news agencies, commercial television
channels and national daily newspapers, provided that they comply
with the following technical conditions, and indicate such claim
on the application form attached.
The
technical conditions of using the service
The VIP service can be used by our partners having ISDN
line (ISDN2 subscription).
A HTML 4.0 compliant, Java
applet and JavaScript enabled Web browser is recommended for
system use.
Minimal recommended
specifications for PC-s having access to VIP services include a
colour SVGA monitor with a minimal resolution of 800x600, as well
as Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or above, or Netscape Navigator
4.0 or above.
Web
service is established in such fashion that it can be properly
inspected with the currently most popular Web browsers.
The
above-described technical parameters contain, as a matter of fact,
the optimum possibilities, and do not exclude searches from
workstations with other features.
Users
requiring the service can access the VIP application using either
a PC having a proprietary ISDN connection or a PC on a LAN with
routers. We can provide service, subject to claims, for 1-4 ISDN
lines for each VIP user.
Workstations should contain the end-equipment and the
software devices necessary for connection.
Would-be VIP users will be informed by NEO about the
possibility of using the service before 20 March.
Applying
for using the VIP Service
Applications
for using the VIP service shall be forwarded to the Central Data
Processing, Registration and Election Office of the Ministry of
the Interior before 20
March 2003 the latest.
VIP users are expected to provide
the following data before 1 April 2003:
·
Name of contact
person, access parameters;
·
the precise address
where the PC-s (LAN) are located;
·
the number of devices
(PC or router) (with ISDN connection) performing ISDN dial up;
·
the number of ISDN
lines (B channels) used in dial up (for each dial up device, a
total of maximum 4);
·
ISDN number(s) from
which dial up is initiated towards the Central Data Processing,
Registration and Election Office of the Ministry of the Interior.
VIP users will receive the
following information from the staff of the Central Data
Processing, Registration and Election Office of the Ministry of
the Interior before 4 April 2003:
·
Username for
accessing the VIP service server (for each dial up device);
·
Password for
accessing the VIP service server (for each dial up device);
·
The ISDN telephone
number to be called.
In
addition to the above data, we shall also send the IP address of
the VIP web server. It is at this IP address (and by name) that
the server can be accessed.
The
device(s) performing dial up should be configured pursuant to the
Internet ISDN dial up. The necessary settings are as follows:
·
Communication on the
ISDN line is done using the PPP protocol.
·
Following dial up,
the dial up server allocates an IP address and default gateway to
the given dial up device (PC or router) (using the PPP protocol).
·
Only PPP CHAP may be
used for username/password authentication.
ISDN
line(s) should be enabled for sending ISDN numbers. (This setting
can be performed by the ISDN carrier. The default setting on MATÁV
ISDN lines is number sending enabled.)
