The first of the election studies undertakes to describe the parliamentary election system of five Central-European countries, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Each country is covered by an introductory study followed by the entire text of the effective parliamentary election law of the given country. The introductory studies outline the process the new election legislation developed, the circumstances of accepting and modifying the effective statutes, underlining the decisive elements of the given election system, give a short account of the elections after the change of regime, their results and consequences.
